We contacted our favourite artists from the Splendour In The Grass 2015 the bill to get their 'Best Splendour Memory' to date + an artist pick for this year

Following the massive Splendour In The Grass lineup announcement, we contacted a bunch of our favourite Australian artists from the lineup to get their 'Best Splendour Memory' to date. We also grabbed their pick(s) from this year's bill.

You might have seen Flight Facilities' essay memory - but we've got much more in store. Starting with four of the brightest Melbourne-ites from the alternative and electronic scenes.

ARA KOUFAX (Sam)

Best Splendour Memory: I enjoyed being told by a production manager at some point that the tent we were playing in was "possibly about to come down" and that we should "just keep fuckin' going with the beats while the boys sort the foundations."

Artist Pick for 2015: I'lls from home. Spiritualized from abroad.

ALPINE (Lou)

Best Splendour Memory: Splendour 2011 was our first festival to perform at! The lineup was out of control! Pulp, Coldplay, Kanye West, The Mars Volta, Devendra Banhart….holy bananas! I remember we were side stage watching Kanye and after his set, Tim very drunk, somehow managed to pat Kanye on the back and tell him "You're good people", before his entourage scooped him into the limo.

Artist Pick for 2015: BLUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'LLS

Best Splendour Memory: Dan kissed Matt Berninger (The National) on the face in 2013 when he came into the crowd during 'Mr November'. He was not pleased.

Artist Pick for 2015:

Hamish - Shlohmo

Simon - Seekae

Dan - Ara Koufax

JAPANESE WALLPAPER

Best Splendour Memory: Sitting side of stage watching Foals (my favourite band) with my friends and crying when they played 'Spanish Sahara'.

Artist Pick for 2015: There are so many people I'm looking forward to checking out! I think Years & Years will be heaps of fun, same as Mark Ronson. Spiritualised is bound to be special too.

We'll have more memories from this year's Splendour In The Grass lineup next week!
