Live Review: Step into 'Your Light' with Total Giovanni's new video

TOTAL GIOVANNI haven't exactly been quiet - they've been grooving all around the country, unleashing their niche brand of shimmy for adoring crowds everywhere. Yet 'Your Light' marks the first release of new music from the group since 2015 and it's bound to get you tapping along.

The release of new music also comes with a video clip that can only be classed as a heavy stylised journey. Featuring Frank Topaz and Spike Punch, as assumably two Mormon Missionaries or plausibly, two missionaries of the groove - the music video follows them to a meeting in which they do a quite intimate and interesting synchronised dance. It's all deadpan and on beat, and it's absolutely odd but makes perfect sense in the world in which Total Giovanni exists. The video ends with a house call, which soon turns into an all out dance fest in which Frank and Spike groove with what at first appeared to be a conservative middle-aged woman. It's quite a simple statement, Total Giovanni are here to bring you the boogie and won't take no for an answer. It's the perfect accompaniment to a track and is sure to get guns blazing for their live shows.

It's obvious that Total Giovanni know how to bring you the boogie as they are soon to be touring with Client Liason, king funk masters of Australia. Total Giovanni will also play Bigsound later this year in Brisbane.
