CLYPSO’s favourite songs to party to
One of our favourite artists to pop up on our radar this year is undoubtedly CLYPSO. With her Santigold-inspired dancefloor filler ‘YOLO’, she blew us away from the first few notes, and for very good reason.
With her foot firmly down on the throttle, ‘YOLO’ is high energy and highly addictive, and it’s clearly not just us who are vibing it so much. Over the space of the past few months since she dropped her debut, CLYPSO has been everywhere, performing at events for Pretty Broad and HEAPS GAY, and has a slot at LISTEN OUT festival quickly approaching as well. She’s also shared studio time with the likes of Ribongia, as can be seen from her social media, so it seems ‘YOLO’ really does speak for itself.
In between all of her exciting shows, CLYPSO will also be present next Thursday night at our own party, helping celebrate 25 years of Beach Road Hotel in Bondi. They’re doing a week long party, and have recruited Purple Sneakers for a night of eclectic dance vibes, and we can’t wait to see CLYPSO perform her energetic set.
To get to know her a little better, and to get you in the partying mood, we asked CLYPSO what her top tracks were to chuck on at a party – her fail-proof party soundtrack, if you will. Check out her choice selection below, and catch her Thursday night, 28th September at Beach Road Hotel for a party of epic proportions!
Tiga – Woke
Love this guy. This housey tune with his classic monotone gets me moving instantly. And then the sax solo to top it off.
Pantha du Prince – Bohemian Forest
Perfect doof at dusk music for me.
Phuture – Acid Tracks
The basslines and synth energy of acid house are infectious and also inspire my music.
Hot Chip – Flutes
One of my absolute favourite tracks from my favourite boy band. After seeing them live I can’t listen to the chorus without seeing their dance choreo in my head. 10/10
Royksopp – Compulsion
5:12 … that is all.
Machinedrum – DDD
love how this great track got sampled by Azealia Banks (one of my faves too).
Vitalic – Waiting For The Stars
Love fashionable bangers that pack so much emotion.
Abra – Roses
half a bar into this bassline and i’ll be on the d-floor.
Groove Armada – Get Down
How rad is Stush ?!
Black Coffee – We Dance Again
Silky smooth and that synth bassline with the sporadic hi hats coming in and out.
Catch CLYPSO at our party for Beach Road Bondi‘s 25th Birthday.
