FBi Radio announces full venue takeover of Marly Bar

Two bastions of Sydney’s local music scene, FBi Radio and Newtown’s Marlborough Hotel, are teaming up together for a full venue takeover to go down on Friday March 23, all in the name of fundraising.

Across all three levels of the Marly – from the glitter-strewn sweat of Tokyo Sing Song downstairs to the flavours of America’s deep south upstairs at Miss Peaches – FBi will be recreating the diverse, exciting, and multi-tiered essence of Australia’s live music scene.

Headlined by the scorching post-punk of Melbourne’s CABLE TIES, Miss Peaches will be converted into a heaving den of rock n’ roll with supports from a who's-who of local up-and-comers, including SUNSCREEN, RACKETT and GAUCI. The ground floor of the Marly will become a soul-inflected haven of all-night indulgence with WALLACE, THE GOODS, 30/70, SILENT JAY & JACE XL, as well as DJ sets from FLEX MAMI and MOWGLI MAY. Meanwhile, downstairs at Tokyo Sing Song, FBi are working with multi-media artist SOPHIE P-Y to transform the space into an immersive electronic environment with a visual atmosphere that encapsulates the sounds you’ll hear from ROZA TERENZI, back-to-back DJ sets from ANDY GARVEY & ADI TOOHEY, and NATALIA & NAT JAMES, before FISHING close the night out in a typically shirtless fashion.

With a focus on imbuing each space with its own distinct personality and curating a cohesive experience for every fan, whether you want to dip into all three levels or you’d prefer to immerse yourself in just the one, the two institutions have again proven their eminence in keeping Sydney’s live music scene alive amidst trying times.

For this, entry is a gold coin donation that will also go towards funding FBi’s continued championing of Sydney music, arts and culture.
