Introducing Purple Sneakers DJs: Next Generation
Purple Sneakers works to showcase emerging club music from Australia and around the world and has continued to do so for the last 12 years. Bringing together an enthusiastic team of contributors from across the country, we like to think that Purple Sneakers is the centre of a forward thinking, music loving community.
Purple Sneakers DJs have been central in continuing this ethos, taking it to clubs and festivals all over the world. They’ve played just about every Australian festival there is to play and have participated in campaigns for brands like Nike, Converse, Adidas and many more.
The Purple Sneakers DJs roster over the years has featured the likes of Purple Sneakers’ founder Martin Novosel, Nick Luke (Moonbase), Gabe Gleeson (Indian Summer), Randall Stagg (Fresh Hex) and more. It’s been a massive few years for us here at Purple Sneakers and we’ve thought really hard about how much we’ve changed over the years, not only as a publication, but as a brand too. We’re ready to move forward with the next chapter of Purple Sneakers DJs, and to mark the occasion, we’re dubbing this the Next Generation.
Purple Sneakers DJs: Next Generation celebrates a new generation of creatives who are passionate about what they do and are passionate about imparting the work of tasteful young artists upon dance floors everywhere. The new lineup features FBi Radio/Pretty Broad’s Caitlin Medcalf, Purple Sneakers Subeditor/ex-FBi Radio Dance Class student Holly O’Neill & FBi Radio’s Eddy Diamond.
They’ve put together a 37 minute mix showcasing what they’re about not only as a team, but individually too. Listen out for the lush, downbeat house tones from Eddy, bass house, club-y vibes from Caitlin and high-energy club sounds from Holly. Hear a taste of what they’re bringing to the table below.
Purple Sneakers DJs: Next Generation is about showcasing not only how far we’ve come as a team, but it also shows how much potential there is for us to continue to grow too. The core members of Purple Sneakers DJs may have changed over the years, but if one thing is still for sure, it’s that this new team of selectors are dedicated to bringing adaptability, flexibility and a wide scope of music knowledge to the table and to dance floors near you very soon.
