Join ALL GIRL ELECTRONIC to witness the next crop of emerging artists

Here at PURPLE SNEAKERS, if there is one thing we love, it's supporting emerging artists. We love finding the next big thing, the hidden gem, and getting behind them to show their music to the world. That's why initiatives such as ALL GIRL ELECTRONIC make us so excited.

A free electronic music production workshop and mentorship program for young women, trans and non-binary youth from Western Sydney, ALL GIRL ELECTRONIC works with members and mentors to develop and hone in on skills to not only develop their craft but also their confidence as artists. Serving as an answer to the call for gender equality and cultural diversity within the areas of electronic music production and programming, the members work on creating original music and DJing, and thanks to mentors such as Lupa J, Antonia Gauci, Kat Harley, Annie Bass, Rainbow Chan, Jikuroux, Kween G and many, many more, they've got some of the very best in the biz giving them tricks of the trade. Some members have already begun releasing music into the world, including CLARISSA MEI and TRU', while the program has also been involved with Western Sydney festival, THE PLOT.

ALL GIRL ELECTRONIC have just wrapped up an 8-week program, and they've inviting their community to come along and hear their efforts. The ALL GIRL ELECTRONIC LISTENING PARTY will play host to emerging Western Sydney music producers sharing tracks, performing original music and DJing (both as works in progress and complete tracks) in a safe, non-competitive environment, and will also give those present an insight into these exciting emerging artists.

With a focus on experimentation and confidence building, ALL GIRL ELECTRONIC's aim is to promote gender equality in music scenes while equipping members with the skills to be able to start making music and getting involved on their own. With the invaluable knowledge from the program's mentors and the encouraging and exciting environment, we're pretty positive this listening party will be highlighting some very promising producers, DJs and artists. Don't miss out!

All Girl Electronic is produced by Information and Cultural Exchange in partnership with MusicNSW, University of New England and FBi Radio. The project is funded by the Ian Potter Foundation.
