It's truly remarkable how much of an impact one's immediate surroundings can have on their creative work. To some, moving cities might not mean a whole lot, but to others, it can mark the start of a whole new chapter in their journey, and that's exactly what we're seeing with Melbourne-via-Adelaide artist, LUKE CARLINO. Making the shift to Australia's cultural capital, Carlino's electronic-infused pop and indie music has taken on a new life, and 'Minute' is the first exciting taste we've heard from this evolution.
Teaming up with SIXFOUR (VIIV) for production and tapping rapper DAYDREAM FEVER for a guest verse, 'Minute' is a completely immersive experience. With a swirling soundscape that builds to completely wrap around you, this song doubles down on the complexity and emotional fragility that Carlino's songs are known for while pairing perfectly with the gentleness still in tact in the vocals.
"’Minute’ started out as a live experimentation with vocal looping and grew into one of my favourite songs when SixFour and Daydream Fever came on board. It's like my emotional, lo-fi club moment and a nice little precursor to my new EP," Luke Carlino said of his latest single, hinting that there's still more to come from these newly developed sounds he's showcasing on 'Minute'. It's clear his recent move to Melbourne has pointed him in the right direction as he's sounding stronger than ever, and that he's not going to be stopping any time soon. East coast fans can catch Luke Carlino at a string of shows over the coming weeks, full details below.
