Live Review: The Kite String Tangle's 'Give It Time' is an ode to optimism

Ever since he made his massive debut, THE KITE STRING TANGLE simply doesn't have it in him to make a bad song. Everything he touches is cloaked in a certain mystique where he never goes overboard with his production or his vocals - he gives us just enough. Just enough is the perfect amount in his case, and 'Give It Time', with the help of production genius AALIAS, is by no means an exception to that rule.

'Give It Time' is ultimately a song about finding light in the dark, and pulling yourself out of and over any obstacles that stand in your way. From the moment that gorgeous harp-laden intro flutters into our ears, TKST is all about uplifting us. His vocals feel feather-light yet deeply rich across the percussion-lead verses, before the song erupts in that euphoric chorus. The video is somehow even more heartwarming, and it'll have you in happy tears by its beautiful closure.

It's funny that The Kite String Tangle's latest offering is called 'Give It Time', because it takes almost no time at all to realise this song is a certified banger. It's a song that never lets go of the reigns, but still has that ability to make you feel incredibly free. If it is indeed about finding light in the dark, then it's pretty clear that TKST will always be there to shine.
