Live Review: Let Wallace enchant you with 'Frame By Frame'

17 July 2018 | 2:02 pm | Jackson Langford

Wallace has continued to strike lightning with her exciting and refreshing catalog, by 'Frame By Frame' might be her most spellbinding offering yet.

Ever since her debut, a magic has existed within WALLACE's songwriting that always felt uniquely hers. Maybe it's the emotion that beams out of her when she sings. Maybe it's her ability to seem at home over any type of beat or melody. Or maybe it's because, as evidenced in her latest single 'Frame By Frame', she's been inspired by arguably the most famous fiction about magic the world has ever seen - Harry Potter. Whatever the magic is, it's undeniable that it exists and Wallace isn't afraid to tell you.

'Frame By Frame' is a stunning mix of the orchestral and the odd, with Wallace's gorgeous voice being the glistening cherry on top. The chorus soars in a way only a Wallace chorus could, with shimmering synths and feather-light vocal delivery pushing it along. There's a lot going on in any given moment of 'Frame By Frame', but each listen casts a new spell on you as you pick up on little quirks that she's snuck in there.

Speaking to Girls Are Awesome, Wallace detailed the inspiration behind the song.

"I’m a self confessed gallery junkie and Harry Potter fan girl (I’m still waiting for my acceptance letter)," she said. "Since 7-year-old me read The Philosopher’s Stone, I’ve always imagined the figures in paintings to be alive like the portraits that hang in the Hogwarts halls. I love wondering what they get up to when the lights go out and all the punters/muggles leave for the day."

Wallace has continued to strike lightning with her exciting and refreshing catalog, by 'Frame By Frame' might be her most spellbinding offering yet. No moment is left unmilked as Wallace leaves sonic secrets only discoverable through repeat listens - which you're bound to do anyway.
