Live Review: 'Float' with Brayden Sibbald's new single

30 August 2018 | 9:01 am | Emma Jones

If you're looking for something smooth and silky to get you through the rest of your week, WA's BRAYDEN SIBBALD has the perfect tune for you. Featuring stunning vocals, crisp beats and dreamy guitars, 'Float' will make you do exactly that.

Taken from his forthcoming EP, Sibbald channels the likes of D.D DUMBO on 'Float', and is the first of a bunch of tracks Sibbald worked on with MATT GIO, whose production credits include that of TROYE SIVAN and RUDIMENTAL“’Float’ was the first song we worked on together, around mid last year. It’s the title track of the EP, as it’s the most reflective of the central theme of the release – which is that if you are down, you can always get back up. It’s not too late to get help, or help yourself, no matter how hard things may seem," Sibbald said.

With palpable emotion, Sibbald shines on 'Float', which gradually picks up intensity as the track goes along and as Sibbald's voice continues to rise until it positively soars. Coupled with intricate guitar plucks and a beat that carries the whole thing so smoothly, 'Float' is an impressive release from an artist who is finding his feet- and sounding damn good while doing it. We're hoping there's plenty more where this comes from!
