Brisbane artist ROMII (fka ROMY) is finally back. After taking out the 2017 Queensland Music Award for best Urban Song for 'Wildheart', she's been over in the USA working with some of the very best the US pop machine has to offer, and now she's making her long awaited return. With a slight change in her name and a newly realised artistic direction, we're thrilled to bring you the first taste of what she's been working on with her new single, 'Cupid Love'.

Infusing her RnB voice with an bouncing electro-pop beat, ROMII makes a powerful statement with her return. Her time overseas as obviously influenced her approach as she's now risen with a global approach making her a serious force to be reckoned with. Her voice is impeccable above the arpeggiated synths and crisp drums as she flips the script on the traditional love song. "I thought about Cupid and how he'd shoot his arrow to make people fall in love, but what about him? It would be so lonely to create all that happiness, but not experience it for himself. Surely, Cupid wants some love too; so, he turns the arrow around to find love," said ROMII.

"I didn't know it at the time, but that's actually the story of Cupid in Roman Mythology. He hits himself with his arrow to fall in love with the goddess Psyche."

Written and recorded in Los Angeles with powerhouse producer Bryant Siono, whose credits run alongside Prince, Kelly Rowland and many more, Siono and ROMII met at a chance encounter while Siono was on tour with Jennifer Lopez. "I met Bryant while he was on tour with Jennifer Lopez as her Musical Director. We were at this party held after the show and he asked me to get up and perform something for him. I was so taken aback but I'm always ready. He loved what I was doing and invited me back to LA to make a record," said ROMII.

'Cupid Love' is an exciting move from an artist who really feels like they're on the verge of breaking through. Coming just in time for summer, this is pop at its finest and we can't wait to hear more!
