Live Review: Set Mo team up with AJ Wright for 'Down the Line'

Way back in February, Sydney electronic duo SET MO decided to release one track on the first Friday of every month in 2018. Since then we've been blessed with seven killer tracks, enlisting greats like Asta, Julian Hamilton of The Presets and Scott Quinn. As their eighth track of the year, 'Down the Line' sees them teaming up with none other than AJ Wright of Cloud Control for a phenomenal house-y banger.

This year has seen Set Mo toying with more contemplative jams like 'Fault Lines' and 'See The Light', alongside club-ready killers like 'Communicate' and 'Wish You Were Here'. Recorded across Berlin, London, Amsterdam and Australia, each track they've dropped this year has shown astounding flexibility and creativity, and 'Down the Line' proves they haven't slowed down one bit.

'Down the Line' sees Set Mo's club-heavy style teaming up with the dreamy pop stylings of AJ Wright's flagship Cloud Control. The result is a slow-motion 90s rave pounding underneath soaring vocal harmonies, shifting between slow, subtle buildups and explosive drops. 'Down The Line' proves exactly why Set Mo's track-a-month project is so incredible; it gives the duo ample opportunity to experiment with different artists, genres and sounds without risking the vibe of an album or EP. With eight tracks down and four more to go, we'll soon have an album's worth of absolutely stellar material from Set Mo, each track totally unique.

As if they haven't done enough to prove they're some of the hardest working electronic artists in Australia, the duo are about to embark on their infamous 'Stamina Sessions' tour, which will see them enduring four hour sets across Australia. With 7 dates, that's 28 combined hours of touring through October and November. Be sure to catch them, because after one hell of a year they'll probably need to take a well deserved break.
