Live Review: Human Movement kick off Of Leisure's Blue Line Steppers compilation with 'Uber Eats'

19 October 2018 | 7:39 am | Caitlin Medcalf

Sydney boys HUMAN MOVEMENT have definitely been fuelling the movement as of late. Off the back of a European tour which saw them play a run of shows in Ibiza, arguably the world's dance music paradiso capital and releasing a run of tracks with seminal label Defected Records, including a huge remix of Deadmau5Kaskade's seminal 'I Remember' and a split release, they're back with a big one - and it's part of something special.

'Uber Eats' is the title of this hungry number, and if there's anything that delivers faster than a Honda Civic with a couple of hot pizza's in tow, it's this track right here.

This house number starts out deep, going further in with a breakbeat percussive line coming in with the kick. "Can you feel the beat?" is chanted throughout this one, and the light, treble-heavy tones of the vocal line really complement the deep, bassy tones running throughout this one. It's UK meets house in the best way possible, and even more so, really showcases some of the hard-hitting electronic music coming out of Sydney right now.

'Uber Eats' is the first track to be taken from part one of local label Of Leisure's two-part foray titled Blue Line Steppers.

Part one of this foray comes in the form of a 12-track digital & vinyl compilation teeming with house, techno, breaks and heaps more from a bunch of Sydney heavyweights and up-and-comers. This one's officially out on November 16, and will feature tracks from Anthony FadeEduardo MuchachoFrames, James PepperMade In ParisNo MasPMAPoint GuardSelf TapeStrange Associates and a huge debut from SPORTS.

Part two is a day festival put together with local Sydney institution FBi Radio, stacked with a bunch of local selectors and live acts who have continued to leave their imprint on dancefloors around our city and beyond. Spanning two stages across Camperdown's Manning House, it's kicking off mid-afternoon on the 19th of January and going right into the night.
