#SHOTFORSNEAKERS: Beatrice

30 October 2018 | 9:30 am | Staff Writer

Purple Sneakers has teamed up with emerging photographer Joseph Crackett of ONLY ODD to hand pick and shoot some of the hottest artists performing at this year’s BIGSOUND. The series, titled #SHOTFORSNEAKERS, focuses on Purple Sneakers and Only Odd’s shared passion of emerging artists. Over the coming weeks we’ll be revealing selections from the shoots, shot by Joseph in Brisbane’s Winn Lane.

Today, we’re very excited to share BEATRICE.

She's one of the busiest muso's in Australia. When she's not working hard on her own production, she's delivering high-energy shows and creating quintessential party starters with Haiku Hands and exploring the sounds of her heritage, fashioned with spirit and history with Kardajala Kirridarra.

Not only has she been flexing her creativity for such a wide variety of musical projects, but she's also been working hard and honing her craft under the prestigious Red Bull Music Academy. Thousands apply each year to attend, but there's only around 70 artists that are chosen.

In amongst the chaos of 2018 (sharing works from her solo project, touring internationally with Haiku Hands and basically just continually finding ways to do it all), she's also supporting seminal electronic artist Jon Hopkins in 2019 as he stops in Sydney. It's been a hell of a journey already for Beatrice, but she's only really just getting started.
