Crooked Colours do it again with ‘Do It Like You’
Aussie trio CROOKED COLOURS are at it again (whoop!) with the release of ‘Do It Like You’, the second single and teaser from their upcoming LP due to be out next year. Bearing in mind that next year is only a month-ish away, the cauldron is really starting to get a good bubble on for the three musical maestros (aka Philip Slabber, Leon De Baughn and Liam Merrett-Park), with ‘Do It Like You’ adding some definite spice into the concoction (we’re thinking something cinnamon-y or maybe some spicy smoked paprika- but the noise equivalent).
Speaking on all things foreign and spicy, ‘Do It Like You’ was actually written whilst on tour in Europe. Phil from the group says that it was the first new song Crooked Colours had written that “really encompassed the sound we were chasing for the second record”. If that ain’t a good sign for this new LP then I don’t know what is, fam. Arriving just two months after the release of ‘I’ll Be There’, the track definitely has a more mystical and less poppy vibe, a clear sign of the trio’s willingness to experiment with their sound.
Crooked Colours have positively skyrocketed as a standout Australian act over the past 18 months, with performances across America, Europe and Australia seemingly back to back, with a total of over 83 festival and concert performances under their belt (PLUS some sellout shows!). All that plus finding the time to write new music is some serious hustle and we have no doubt that the hard work will pay off come next year’s release.
