Take a trip to the ‘Otherside’ with Young Franco, Golden Vessel & Reva Devito
Brisbane’s electronic wunderkind YOUNG FRANCO is back at it again, this time teaming up with fellow Brissy fave Golden Vessel and Reva Devito for a thick, smooth slice of summer-loving electro-pop.
There’s not many more praises that can be sung about Young Franco that haven’t been already; from humble Brisbane origins the producer has been perfecting his formula of bouncy electro-pop with fantastic results. He’s copped airplay on airwaves local and international alike – the same can be said for his countless sold out tours. He’s done a remix for Dua Lipa, and received support from the likes of Rüfüs Du Sol, Rudimental and SG Lewis. His first offering of 2019 sees him continuing his tried-and-tested collaboration formula, with no signs of his soaring trajectory stopping any time soon.
Right off the bat this is definitely Franco‘s strongest production yet – the drums sound like funky gunshots and Reva Devito‘s voice absolutely soars over the soft pads, squelchy synths and sweet bass guitar licks. The track moves along with a laid-back drive, luxuriating in poppy hooks and a warm vibe that is heightened when sultry vocals of Golden Vessel come on the scene. There’s an impeccable flow on display here. it’s the kind of track you could either slow shuffle to or simply sit back and take it all in – much like it’s creator, it’s versatile in the best possible way.
‘Otherside’ is definitely Young Franco at his most Young Franco – it’s a refined electro-pop tune with notes of funk and soul, with booming production and a carefree vibe. Franco is a producer who keeps refining himself with every track, and his penchant for collaboration means you’ll always get something fresh and irresistible
