Luen announces national tour & free women's DJ workshops

22 February 2019 | 12:15 pm | Staff Writer

Sydney's LUEN is one of those creatives that's never stopped. Always eager to hear the next best thing and give a leg up to other creatives, she's been involved in a huge amount of projects over the years. She was responsible for the Hand Games collective, she co-runs Taxx with Genie and also co-curates a radio-show-come-record-label, Beats Of No Nation with Dom Bird and Jad & The.

Luen's always been an advocate for championing aspiring female-identifying & gender non-conforming creatives in the industry, and now she's extending this advocacy to a national tour surrounded by a bunch of DJ workshops she's hosting along the way.

In total, she'll be hosting 18 DJ workshops specifically for female identifying, non-binary and trans women across the country. She'll be passing on the art of mixing dance music, and with a history as long and extensive as hers, if you've been wanting to get behind the decks, but don't know where the heck to start, her expertise will be SO valuable.

She's teaming up with Humanitix for this tour to raise money for the project, 'Room To Read', a program aimed at giving literacy education to disadvantaged young girls.
