Sydney's self-proclaimed 'Soulstranaut' SETWUN has returned with a rhythm focussed, meditative original track 'Sun's Child'.

Sydney's self proclaimed 'Soulstranaut' SETWUN has returned with a rhythm focussed original track, 'Sun's Child'. The track reimagines Sun Ra's ‘Children Of The Sun’ with Setwun adding his signature flare. The producer is known for his ability to draw from an array of influences from soul, jazz and dance and that he does directly on this new flip.

The track is a meditative piece of art, both calming and reflective in nature. The vocals bind together the track's groovy rhythmic elements. It opens with the simple live percussion which drive the song forward. Wooden drums, bongos and the introduction of the vocal get the head bobbing before any big dance elements are introduced.

A sweeping, wave like synth takes the track into second gear. The drums progressively get harder and bass line heavier as the track moves into full blown dancing territory. Beautiful piano keys humble the more aggressive elements of the bass line and synth line, giving the track warmth.

The art of the track is defined in how dynamic it is. Its structure, peaks and sways are perfectly suited to the late night at a club, played out to a full dancefloor. At the same time, its strength in sampling, diverse percussion and soulful elements give the six-minute track a life outside of the club context.

Setwun is making some serious waves with his fusion of dance and soul. It's exciting to see where this unique twist on classic house music will take him as his sound evolves. For a free download as well, theres absolutely nothing to lose investing in this promising project.
