Thanks to our awesome buds at Inertia, we're launching Dum Dum Girls sophomore album 'Only In Dreams' this week.
DUM DUM GIRLS rose to fame with their debut album 'I Will Be' in March 2010. Pitchfork described the songs as "genuine earworms, both unfailingly hip and often wonderfully associative". Since then they haven't stopped, releasing an EP 'He Gets Me High' earlier this year, touring with Vampire Weekend, and now releasing sophomore album 'Only In Dreams'. Thanks to our awesome buds at Inertia, we're launching the album this week.
The sophomore album, which is often the make or breaking point in an artist's career, has definitely succeeded. While retaining their signature pop-punk sound, the growth of the band is obvious. All four members sing on this album, with more depth to the harmonies and much more force - like a true rock & roll band. Headwoman Dee Dee cites her recent personal tragedies and long distance relationship as the inspiration for the album.
