LAUNCHING: Wavves 'Life Sux'

19 September 2011 | 2:20 pm | Staff Writer

This week, thanks to Inertia, we're launching the new Wavves EP 'Life Sux'. All you have to do to win is tell us why life sux.

By now, we all know and love WAVVES. The skuzzy project of Nathan Williams is a somehow perfect mash of no-fi, distortion and sunshine filled melodies. He manages to draw us in with difficult to decipher lyrics, usually revolving around beach, boredom, babes and weed. This week we're stoked to be launching the latest release from this amazing band, the EP 'Life Sux' thanks to our friends at Inertia.

The last couple of months have been a slow drip-release of some of the tracks from the EP, including 'I Want To Meet Dave Grohl' and 'Nodding Off', which have been progressively exciting us. The tracks take his trademarked unfinished sound to a new level, due to the overdriven inputs from recording sessions, giving it a distorted feel. Williams has delighted fans by capitalising on the DIY nature of his music, continually distributing his music for free.
