Live Review: LISTEN: Daniel Rossen 'Saint Nothing'

If you’re an insomniac like me, you’ll do just about anything to get to sleep – count various fence-jumping animals, drink herbal teas brewed by freakish hippies, listen to anything and everything with a slow tempo.

From one non-sleeper to another, GRIZZLY BEAR helps. And for that matter, so does the first track from GRIZZLY BEAR vocalist DANIEL ROSSEN'S self-titled solo project.

That’s not to say that ‘Saint Nothing’ is so dull that it’s good for nothing but curing insomnia. Quite the contrary; Rossen manages to balance melodic and peaceful notes with a soulful, tear jerking story – not to mention his vocals are impeccable.

‘Saint Nothing’ will be released alongside a bundle of other sleepy wonders on the Silent Hour/Golden Mile EP sometime in March. I’d highly recommend getting your sleeping masks/tissues ready. This guy is good.
