Melbourne’s TOTAL CONTROL are one of those bands that you might have heard about but perhaps haven’t actually listened to. Guitarist Mike Young (formerly of EDDY CURRENT SUPPRESSION RING) is somewhat of a DIY legend, which has helped launch TOTAL CONTROL into cult status. After a massive 2011 U.S. tour with THEE OH SEES the outfit were invited by LES SAVY FAV to play at ALL TOMORROWS PARTIES (U.K.) last December. Quite the resume!

TOTAL CONTROL’s sound is an unfitting fusion of punk and minimal synth that somehow works a treat. Their 2011 album Henge Beat is raucous and eerie all at once but is tied together amazingly by the dry, despondent vocals of Dan Stewart. Tracks such as 'The Hammer' and 'No Bibs' really manage to get under your skin, make you feel a bit weird and prompt you to attempt spasmodic dance moves to them… or maybe that’s just me. Either way, have a listen for yourselves.
