Live Review: WATCH: Messrs ‘Everyone Knows’

5 March 2012 | 6:00 pm | Staff Writer

Well known on the local Adelaide scene, electro influenced indie act MESSRS' first single 'Everyone Knows' now has an astronomical film clip.

While well known in the local Adelaide scene, electro influenced indie act MESSRS aren’t the household name they should be just yet. Originally forming as The Touch a number of years ago, the band changed their name after discovering another band with the same moniker while touring Europe.

Taking inspiration from the likes of Cut Copy, LCD Soundsystem and the like, Messrs straddle the line between synth-pop disco reminiscent of the 80’s and the guitar fuelled indie-rock of today.

‘Everyone Knows’ is their first single, and although released late last year, it has been featuring in commercials for the Adelaide Fringe Festival. The film clip features astronauts, fitting in well with the spacey feel of the tune, conjuring up images of robots and futuristic cities, while lead vocalist JOSH MOORE implores “everyone knows that you can’t fight the feeling”.
