Live Review: WATCH: Phebe Starr 'Alone With You'

Sydney solo artist PHEBE STARR just launched a dreamy synth-pop single earlier this month alongside a galactic-themed vid, and has been running back and forth across the country for touring and promotion.

The track, 'Alone With You', is a beautiful example of STARR’s romantic, emotive vocal style and visual lyrical style, with a sound sitting somewhere between KIMBRA's quirky, softly vocalised and richly-layered crooning and MEGAN WASHINGTON's outright belting ballads.

The video for 'Alone With You' reminds us all that PHEBE STARR is a) the cutest ever and b) the next big thing in Australian singer/songwriters. It's bold, it's captivating, it's a little bit different - just like the artist herself. Therefore, it’s no surprise that Starr quickly became a Triple J featured artist.

In August, she’ll be supporting Purple Sneakers faves THE RUBENS (Check out their single 'I Dont Ever Want To Be Found' HERE) and in September she’ll be playing Brisbane's Bigsound. Here’s some candid advice for you: Go see her ASAP, before she follows in the footsteps of fellow crooner KIMBRA and is snatched up by the international market—because if one thing’s for certain, it’s that there’s a very big, bright future for the deliciously quirky PHEBE STARR.
