Live Review: LISTEN: Beck Contributes New Songs To PS3 Game 'Sound Shapes'

BECK has done many things in his career. One of my favourite BECK tunes is, ‘Where It’s At’ which can be heard in my head quite regularly, and now gamers can listen to his three latest tracks on the Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita game Sound Shapes.

These new songs are entitled ‘Cities’, ‘Touch the People’ and ‘Spiral Staircase’ and are played alongside JIM GUTHRIE and DEADMAU5 in the game.

Sound Shapes itself is pretty interesting. The game allows players to create their own music levels in a reinvention of the classic platform format. This pretty much means you can play around with different music levels to compose your own songs. The game is available now so all you music junkies out there, I give you full permission to flood your local games store to buy it! Check out the official trailer below...

Along with this new venture BECK has been pretty busy. In 2010 he helped write the soundtrack for the awesome film Scott Pilgrim Vs the World (listen to his rendition of ‘RAMONA'), his song ‘Looking for a Sign’ was featured in the 2011/2012 (depending on your towns release date) film Jeff Who Lives at Home, and there was also a collaboration with CHILDISH GAMBINO aka Donald Glover, which will be featured on his mixtape Royalty.

CHILDISH GAMBINO will be playing at the Big Day Out festival in 2013, and as for Mr BECK, he is lined up to play at the Harvest Festival in November alongside SIGUR ROS and GRIZZLY BEAR. So the East Coast better be ready, because a legend is coming your way!
