Dune Rats Annonce Suburban Beach Parties Tour

10 August 2012 | 12:00 pm | Hannah Galvin

Surf-punkers Dune Rats have just announced their Suburban Beach Parties tour. Dates and some performers have been already scheduled.

“Ah fuck it, let’s throw some sweet parties!” I’m sure this is exactly what Danny Beusa and BC Michaels of DUNE RATS said when they came up with the idea of throwing a string of Suburban Beach Parties around Australia.

The Brisbane band have come a long way with their infectious surf-punk tunes. Their growing achievements list consist of having supported the likes of Best Coast, The Drums, Cults, Ariel Pink and Bleeding Knees Club.

On top of that, they’ve headlined their own tour and have digitally released Sexy Beach EP, Social Atoms EP and their carefree single ‘Fuck It’ which can all be purchased from their Bandcamp. Selected tracks from the EPs and ‘Fuck It’ have made airwaves with a generous amount of playtime.

The duo are currently supporting Children Collide on their Monuments Tour. Sure it’s a sweet gig, but why leave all the fun there when there’s still time for such activities?

The boys announced the secret gigs on their Facebook, describing the festivities as a “bunch of ghetto house party shows.”

There will be one party in each major city that the tour visits. With Western Australia down, you should be impressed with the knowledge that solo artist Chet Faker played a set at the Perth secret show. Having said this, expect good things from Danny and BC!

Be warned though, this isn't an open invite. In order to acquire access, you have to purchase a Children Collide ticket. If you have already done so, you would have been notified by email to enter the draw of winning a double pass on oztix.com.au. There are only ten plus one invites up for grabs for each party, so cross those fingers!
