Live Review: LISTEN: CHVRCHES 'The Mother We Share' (Miaoux Miaoux Remix)’

3 November 2012 | 3:00 pm | Lauren Payne

Honestly I don’t think there’s anything better than sitting back and listening to Lauren Mayberry’s voice at the end of a long day. Well... Thats Chvrches..

Honestly I don’t think there’s anything better than sitting back and listening to Lauren Mayberry’s voice at the end of a long day.

The effect CHRVCHES leaves is one of absolute bliss and the trio from Glasgow have not yet disappointed. Releasing their first track ‘Lies’ earlier this year shot the electronic band to internet stardom, and have dominated ever since.

CHRVCHES second single ‘The Mother We Share’ flooded the eardrums of every internet muso with their twinkling synths and full drum beats creating a track that is worth playing on repeat. CHRVCHES second single was the one that seem to stick in my head and that is probably because of the sheer power it has as Mayberry’s lyrics fly atop a sea of ethereal melodies. The track is released this month and now it has a rad remix to accompany it into the musical world.

The bouncy remix for ‘The Mother We Share’ was created by MIAOUX MIAOUX and it has a more poppy and bouncy feel than it’s sweet original. Mayberry’s vocals still dominate the track but ‘The Mother We Share’ now seems to have a heavier dance groove that MIAOUX MIAOUX must have intended on adding in. Another summer track to put on the playlist, MIAOUX MIAOUX’s remix is one of the perfect partners for CHRVCHES second single and will surely catapult both artists into the search bars of musos the world over.

The remix slowly fades itself out leaving you with a wonderful synth pop experience and not surprisingly, ‘The Mother We Share’ single, that will be released next week through National Anthem, vinyl has already SOLD OUT! If this doesn’t show you how in demand CHRVCHES is, then I don’t know what will! MIAOUX MIAOUX is currently touring the UK, but will hopefully hit Australian shores soon, and we also hope that CHRVRCHES will make an appearance because we want some of that Scottish electro up in here!
