Live Review: WATCH: HeartsRevolution 'Not That Hard To Explain' (Official Video)

15 November 2012 | 10:30 am | Rebecca McCann

Hip-hop stylings of JUST BLAZE feature on HEARTSREVOLUTION's 'Not That Hard To Explain', and the official video is as good as the pop tune is banging.

The messy electro-pop sounds of HEARTSREVOLUTION hail from the ever-savvy and boundary-pushing world's city of New York, and their tunes are nothing short of poptastic.

The New Jersey hip-hop stylings of JUST BLAZE feature on 'Not That Hard To Explain', and the official video for the single is as good as the tune is banging. However, it must come with this WARNING: may induce epileptic fit.

What might happen if KE$HA made dirty sex with a bunch of Harajuku girls, I hear you ask? Oh, you didn't ask that? Well imma tell you the answer anyway. HEARTSREVOLUTION would emerge from the filthy cigarette ashes, all fluro-sass and druggy-glam and very very funky pop sounds.

The video was made with the expert production skills of the HIGH5COLLECTIVE, who are behind videos of CHILDISH GAMBINO and his ilk. The band are quoted as saying that the video is "more of a mission statement than a music video", and illustrates "the dark underbelly of the music industry".

Suffice to say strobes and fluro colours pop throughout, pills are spilled on tables, and lurid and psychedelic debauchery ensues. Maybe I can sum up HEARTSREVOLUTION's message with their own lyrics: "Six months from now I'll be taking your cash/ And in the interim I'll be smoking your stash". Brutal.
