Live Review: LISTEN: Moullinex 'Fauna'

What goes hand-in-hand with "fauna"? If you answered "flora", gold star for you! That old chestnut you learned as a child, used to describe all the animals and plants within an environmental ecosystem.

Mother nature and her shrubs, flowers, birds, bugs, forests and wildlife. All the sounds of flora and fauna can be heard in the jungly electro of MOULLINEX's latest track, available for streaming via their SoundCloud.

Tribal congo-drum beats are the back bone of this sprawling bed of expansive electronica from the Portuguese producer best known recently for triple j favourite 'Take My Pain Away'.

Chirping cicada sounds are distorted and add a distinctly feathered texture to the vaguely drum-n-bass flavoured cut. The siren songs of beaked animals ricochet off trees in a dense jungle of minimalist beats.
