Live Review: LISTEN: Phoenix 'Entertainment'
Dizzyingly euphoric, PHOENIX return to grace us with their distinctive style of indie-rock-thats-more-like-pop, with a little more synth than usual to boot.
Euphoric sounds from French indie-rock band PHOENIX are certainly enough to whet fans appetites in anticipation of the April release of their new album.
Electric keys open 'Entertainment', and it isn't until Thomas Mars vocals begin that it starts to sound like PHOENIX.

Indeed, the band has said this record is a departure from Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, and more experimental in its approach.
Whatever the case may be, this is as catchy as you would expect from the band that are more informed by pop sensibilities than indie-rock. The sound here is more polished than their earlier work, but the strength as always lies in the melodic sense and hook.
The chorus is dizzying upbeat, and the synthesised elements are laid on thick.
