Some bands like to tweet. Others prefer a Facebook post. Some will even take it as far as Instagram. But Australian quartet CLOUD CONTROL have updated their fans of their long-overdue Australian headline show by creating this stunning video, informing us of their upcoming performance for this years Vivid Sydney Festival!

As we know, the band have been living in the UK for some time now. Very recently, they announced the recording process of their forthcoming sophomore record (which you can read more about HERE) and created a BLOG to go with it.

On that blog, they uploaded this video, explaining some of the thought process behind the new record, how they recorded in a c**e and that they'll be returning to Australia to play a very special show. The clip is accompanied by a weezy old demo by vocalist and guitarist Alister Wright.

Directed by Cloud Control's drummer Ulrich Lenffer, he takes us to the sublime, 2000 year old quarry in which the band used as a recording space. With this as well as the other visuals documented throughout the clip, we're also shown each member of the band stand before a blank wall in a dark room, their only light source coming from a flashing globe that paints colour over each of their face. This cleverly reflects the main attraction of Vivid's uniqueness, as the festival is known for casting huge light installations and projections over Sydney; a main feature being the iconic Sydney Opera House - the venue they'll be performing at as part of this year's Vivid!

To make this even more special, this particular performance will showcase the live premiere of their new record.

They play the Joan Sutherland Theatre on the 31st May. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, 27th March and are about $35 each.
