It's not often you see a collaboration including Thom Yorke creating something dance driven, but that's exactly what's happened, this remix of Four Tet.

It's not often you see a collaboration including Thom Yorke creating something dance driven, but that's exactly what's happened, as Yorke's ATOMS FOR PEACE have taken on reworking FOUR TET's 'Pyramid'.

First appearing on the British producers full length, Pink, last year; 'Pyramid' is a highlight track of the release. It blends the chilled out synth lines we know Four Tet for, with some serious house driven beats. Now with AFP at the helms of the stems, the result is almost the same - but so different.

The simple house beat is transformed into a deep tribal one, with the already warped vocals samples being warped a couple times more before being cut up and thrown all over the place. The synths are a bit more disjointed this time around, bubbling along underneath the rest - yet they still act as the chilling backing to this 8 minute masterpiece of electronica. Before it all rips into a closing of metallic percussion and distorted organ patches.

It's beat driven enough to be dropped in a dark DJ set, yet it's still relaxed enough to set it as the song you want to drift off to sleep with.
