Live Review: PREMIERE: Sid Pattni 'Mr Alpha' (Indian Summer Remix)

London-born, Kenya-raised and Perth-based talent SID PATTNI has just released his latest single 'Mr Alpha', an incredibly well song-written electronic jam featuring vocals from the amazing WHISKEY WINTER.

Having his humble beginnings on the flipside of the mixing desk, SID was known in the industry as one of the best drummers around. It was a severe injury in ‘09 that forced him to give up the high hats, instructed by doctors that he would lose all function in his arm and never drum again.

SID began a yearlong hiatus teaching himself piano as a means of physical therapy. Piano playing quickly turned to production as he was serendipitously introduced to the music of LA producer, KNXWLEDGE.  Heavily inspired, he went on to release his debut EP ‘Le Vidé’ in 2012, which reached Bandcamp’s 'Top 10 Bestsellers' chart in its first week.  Receiving significant attention on both local and international airwaves, Back in ‘03 was placed on high rotation on Triple J as well as sparking much deserved hype on the blogosphere. 

2013 sees the return of Sid Pattni as he continues to collaborate with some of Australia’s finest MC’s and vocalists. His first offering features local lyricist and folktronica fiend, WHISKY WINTER.

As steeped in soul as it is fueled by perfectly produced electronica, Mr. Alpha is set for release on 31st May through new boutique, genre-agnostic singles label, Monocarpic Records.  The single is accompanied by a slew of remixes from the likes of party purveyors Indian Summer, Ta-Ku and SWICK and Lewis CanCut.
