Architecture-in-Helsinki-Need-You-Now

With various spots of a few Hottest 100 lists, countless festival appearances such as Laneway, Big Day Out and as of July this year Splendour In The Grass, ARCHITECTURE IN HELSINKI have been knocking out heavy synthesized tunes to the world for a few years now. The band have announced that a new LP is on the way!

To celebrate we are going back to the tracks that made them catch our eyes and ears in the first place. I say ears for obvious reasons of course, but I also say eyes because their many collaborations with Krozm in the making of their music videos has put them in very high ranks, lets see why shall we...

ARCHITECTURE IN HELSINKI 'That Beep'

One of the most interesting tracks ever, ‘That Beep’ has the lovely high vocals that we love so much, mixed with a very deep hollow sounding break the lyrics “that beep, that beep, that bow bow bow.”

Probably the most fun you can have with a pop track, and also the weirdest, ARCITECTURE IN HELSINKI are definitely creative and the synths that drive ‘That Beep’ are insanely good, this is a song that is definitely karaoke worthy it wont surprise me if it ends up on a dvd of some sort one day, either that or you’ll play ‘That Beep’ at your next party and just sing along anyway.

ARCHITECTURE IN HELSINKI 'Contact High'

One of ARCHITECTURE IN HELSINKI’s later tracks, the synths are still in full control but ‘Contact High’ seems to flow a little bit smoother than ‘That Beep’. ARCHITECTURE IN HELSINKI likes to share the vocal work which you can see since the vocals here are now in control of Cameron Bird instead of Kellie Sutherland, who sings on ‘That Beep’.

Their vocals are both quite high and are in the same vocal range, so the change really isn’t that hard to become accustomed too. You get a taste of Bird and Sutherland and its good to get a mixed bag.

ARCHITECTURE IN HELSINKI 'W.O.W'

"W.O.W acts as the soundtrack to a film about one man's quest to find answers, and in turn his

place, in the natural universe. Somewhere along the line we convinced Cameron to make his acting debut, which involved him swimming fully clothed in freezing water for a whole day."

That’s how ARCHITECTURE IN HELSINKI describe the music video for their track ‘W.O.W’. With Kellie Sutherland being handed the vocals for this track, the story has an almost ghostly soundtrack in the film clip directed by Krozm. The band has made their mark through their music and their clips because they seem to work together in producing something really beautiful. This particular song though, you may notice that one of the members of the band actually plays the lead character in their little film. This is one of the only film clips that a member of the band plays a crucial part in the clip and its nice to see a familiar face I think. The boys and girls of ARCHITECTURE IN HELSINKI have a lot of good things coming for them and we all know that they'll be ready!
