Once again WAVVES' frontman Nathan Williams has changed his direction and come back together with his brother Kynan for yet another instalment for his side-project SWEET VALLEY. After three previous releases from the brothers, the act have dropped a new release entitled SV that you can downloaded for free from the band's Soundcloud.

Last year's Eternal Champ, was a really unique effort as they used a lot of samples from some very well-known video games, and Jenova was quite psychedelic, so really you never know what kind of album SWEET VALLEY are going to release next.

SV is something completely different again. Kicking off with 'Kingdom Of Heaven', we are introduced to sirens and loud horns, until the song breaks out into an electronic wonderland of fast-paced beats, and some catchy vocal samples.

'Infinite Pulse' has an even more fast-paced beat than it's predecessor, but a slow break with some hollow, ethereal synths kind of make 'Infinite Pulse' sound a lot like a classic house track.

Actually now that I think about it, 'Infinite Pulse' kind of reminds me of CRYSTAL CASTLES, Nathan and Kynan definitely have created something mysterious yet familiar here. Soon though, 'Turbo GT' kicks in and your left with an electronic track which has a pretty big hip-hop influence. One thing I love about SV is the fact that the entire this gives off the impression that it's ready for anything. You can hear the different genres being played with, I applaud the Williams' brothers.

'Four' plays with some very exotic vocal samples and is a lot of fun, with some futuristic synths thrown in with the tribal chanting, it's a mix that no one has really used so a completely new track has popped up here. There's a bit of a crunch to the synths too that add an edge. It's a pity it's the shortest song on the release. 'Quicksand (Secret Colours Remix)' is a vibrant track for a lovely day, you know, when you're that happy-go-lucky person who's smiling just for the hell of it. The hollow synths, the catchy vocal track, the repetitive beat that still stays exciting.

'Cosmic Devine' is a great track because it mixes fast-paced synths with quite a clam and relaxed melody, and the rest of SV seems to roll in this way, by just playing around with things you would usually play around with. I feel that some tracks are harder to explain than others so I think now is the best time to let you all listen to SV yourselves and take in all it's wonder and glory.
