WIN: Liveschool Presents 'INPUT' @ FBi Social Double Pass

7 August 2013 | 1:07 pm | Lauren Payne

We have a double pass to Input to give away to one lucky guy or gal who's interested in the workings of the independent music industry.

Considering the recent rise of electronic music over the last few years, people have been asking the same old questions: what's going on under the radar? How does one get signed? INPUT seeks to answer these questions and more for those budding producers here in Australia.

The event is held every year and like Bigsound in Brisbane, INPUT gives people the chance to listen to industry professionals talk about what's what in the independent music industry.

Presented by the acclaimed Sydney based Ableton Liveschool, the event offers in depth Q&A sessions to give people the chance to ask those questions that they really want answered. All whilst focusing on production techniques and various other sections of knowledge that INPUT's guest speakers have in their arsenal. The presenters each year impart their wisdom on those who attend and this year, will of course be no different.

INPUT is to be held at FBi Social on August 10, and the guest speakers at this years event couldn't be better. Previously, INPUT has had the likes of Flume, Elizabeth Rose, GLOVES, the Stoney Roads team and more. In 2013, the event plays host to Tim Shiel, Nathan McLay, Gardland, Vaughn Allen and Adam Maggs.

Tim Shiel has been touring with GOTYE and presenting the live show for Wally's latest release Making Mirrors to audiences across the globe, making him one of the many men who are more than capable of making a mark in the music world. Whilst as the head of Future Classic, Nathan McLay is responsible for some of the best dance music we've heard over the past year. With signings like Flume, Touch Sensitive, Flight Facilities, LDRU and more, this guy knows what it takes to make it and he's going to share his wisdom with anyone willing to listen.

There will also be presentations on sound design techniques from Ableton’s Adam Maggs, production insights from synth & drum machine aficionados Gardland (Hunter Gatherer Records) and interactive media techniques and design from Max For Live guru Vaughan Allan.

INPUT is just another notch on the belt for Ableton Liveschool, as this comes on the back of being the world's first Ableton-dedicated training company, running workshops for the public by trained professionals and electronic stars alike. With a client list that includes Australia's major radio stations, record labels, events companies, SAE Institute, and the non-profit group Heaps Decent - they definitely know everything about creating Electronic music.
