ROLAND TINGS is one of Club Mod's latest brainiacs, releasing good vibes and high energies into the world of electronic dance music.

Having just released his new single 'Tomita's Basement'/'Cagean Sea' (recorded and produced in Berlin), we asked the Australian producer if to conduct this weeks Soundcloud Wrap!

CLUB MODCAST #010: ROLAND TINGS

This is a live jam I recorded for Club Mod, made during an insane summer thunderstorm. I had been working on recording it for two days without much success. Eventually I gave up and went to drink beers with Moon Wheel at the abandoned airport. You can see for miles there, we watched the thunderstorm come in across the runway, I raced home on my bike and managed to record this in one take just as the storm hit.

MOON WHEEL 'ALAEIFR'

Sitting on the floor of your friends lounge room getting high at 4am, middle of Winter, playing kraut rock 45s on 33rpm, communicating with aliens. Thats what I hear when I hear this.

ANGEL EYES 'THICK'

Angel Eyes is a great artist from Melbourne, brings the groove to the drone party in a way that nobody else can.

TINGS & SAVAGE 'SHIVER'

We recorded this in a total daze. We were planning to convince Shane Warne to start a record label called Warnie Brothers to put this out. Turns out he was too busy being a prick, so Richard McFarlane did it instead. I don't know if Richard can bowl a leg break but he's a good bloke for putting out our tape.

ANDRAS FOX 'ERSKINE FALLS'

Andras Fox is the man behind one of my favourite radio shows - Strange Holiday on RRR. Constantly surfing the fringes of pop music, makes a mean soup as well. The record is out on Homeloan Records, the label of Melbourne’s premiere DX7 owner Michael Ozone.

KEITH FULLERTON WHITMAN 'AUTOMATIC DRUMS WITH MELODY'

This is amazing track by modular synth wizard Keith Fullerton Whitman. This is the most accessible / pop oriented thing I have heard of his. Ethereal & ecstatic pop musik.

GARDLAND 'PLAGUE BEARER'

I’m obsessed with this track. Hope to catch these guys do it live some time, I've been listening to their live set on Soundcloud and its really nice. Looking forward to their upcoming LP on RVNG.

LEISURE CONNECTION 'JUNGLE DANCING'

Peaking Lights on a house tip. Can't wait to hear this in a club, one for the freaks.

SECRET BIRDS 'ZEN PYRAMID' CLICK HERE FOR TRACK

I think Secret Birds is from Brisbane... or Tokyo? I dunno I'm confused. I like everything I've heard from this guy. Turn on the lava lamp. Peep that blazing guitar tone half way thru. Hot damn!

OMENUNIVERSE 'PRE GRIEF'

Meditative sounds from Berlin to Melbourne and back again. Have a glass of wine ready for this one.
