When this years OUTSIDEIN FESTIVAL lineup announcement came out, you would have noticed an unfamiliar yet exciting act listed - Astral People Presents SINCE I LEFT YOU. Confused yet intrigued, we've been scratching our heads as to what exactly is to come of this secret project. Thanks to Astral People and Music Feeds, Since I Left You has finally revealed itself!
Jonti (formerly known as Djanimals) has been very luckily asked to contribute to the forthcoming Avalanches album that has built years and years worth of anticipation due to the reputable debut Since I Left You. Being a humungous deal to the artist, Jonti wanted to prove his appreciation greatly to the Avalanches, so what better way than to do so creatively?
Paying homage to his favourite record (and with the nod of approval from Avalanches' Robbie Chater), Jonti has recruited a prestigious army of musicians to come together and celebrate the Avalanches' 2000 record Since I Left You by reworking the full-length to make it their own, collaboratively.
In just three months, they've made it happen together and will be making their live debut at OutsideIn this weekend! In the meantime, check out the supergroup take on 'Frontier Psychiatrist', recorded within the fine walls of the Music Feeds studio. Be astounded by the amount of instruments, vocalists and samples used to craft the rendition, courtesy of musicians including the man himself, Rainbow Chan, the Polographia boys and many, many more!
