LISTEN: Beni ‘Love On The Run’ + Tour Dates Announced

Dance music stallion, BENI, returns to the national electronic scene with a new EP to be released later this month. We have the first taste of it, with the lead single and (half) title track, ‘Love On The Run’, hitting the internet after getting premiered via Triple J not long ago.

The EP is entitled Love On The Run / Summer’s Gone, and will obviously feature two new tracks ‘Love On The Run’ and ‘Summer’s Gone’. Produced by Kim Moyes (The Presets, KIM), the EP itself is actually only the first taste of new music from Beni, as he will be releasing a series of EPs that punters can enjoy very soon. That is before, the Bang Gang stalwart and former rioter in Belgium kicks off a run of DJ shows up and down the East Coast of Australia in Decemeber.

‘Love On The Run’ offers up a slice of future house, sounding like a club track that would soundtrack some ridiculous club within a Blade Runner-esque city. With plenty of glitchy organ patches and tribal percussion, to compliment the driving bass – this was created for the dancefloor. The vocals provided by House Of Beni collaborator, Prince Terrence, inject the otherwise machine-funk instrumental bed with a yearning human touch.

Just over two years ago, Beni served up erratic energy on his debut LP, with elements of house, techno, downbeat, and electro coming together to create one of the dance albums of 2011. 24 months and several hundred DJ sets later, this seminal producer is back with a more purposeful direction and with more focus towards progression not only in his own sound – but also within the genre itself.

Love On The Run / Summer’s Gone EP will feature remixes from L-Vis 1990 and Riton and is digitally available on November 29 via Modular Recordings.

Just a weird, socially awkward dude trying to get by. On the plus side he knows a lot about ramen, and you know, that’s pretty cool.
