Live Review: LISTEN: I'lls 'Mine's Here Or My End's Here Or Nineteen' (Naysayer & Gilsun Remix)

Melbourne trio I'LLS release the first track 'Mine's Here' (Naysayer & Gilsun remix) from their upcoming remix EP.

Local Melbourne fellas, I'LLS have been putting in work lately. Releasing one of the most interesting, heartfelt and genuinely fresh EP's to come out of Australia this year through forward-thinking Sydney-based label YES PLEASE, the boys have been coming up in everyone's radar, and for good reason.

Just a little over four months after its initial release, the stellar EP is getting a revitalizing reworking via the form of a remix package. Who better to kick off the remix duties? None other than the cruisy Melbourne-ite duo NAYSAYER & GILSUN.

The duo have given the track 'Mine's Here Or My End's Here Or Nineteen' (say that three times fast) a huge and uplifting re-imagining, bringing it's sombre, dark and ambient tone into realms of deep and silky house, reminiscent of THE FIELD or FORT ROMEAU.

The remix, which spans over almost 8 minutes, sends the listener through a rolling voyage full of glistening sample work, and pulsing rhythms. Devoid of vocals, except for the light reminder of a wispy sample here and there, the track is all about the hypnotic textures created by the interweaving melodies, held together by the endless beat.

Make sure to stay on the look out for further remixes from Rat & Co, Tincture, Wabz and Ktsche for I'LLS forthcoming on YES PLEASE records.
