Major Lazer & Pharrell Williams Drop New Single 'Aerosol Can'

4 February 2014 | 2:17 pm | Hannah Galvin

Major Lazer and Pharrell Williams have teamed up for their track 'Aerosol Can' - the leading single from Major Lazer's Apocalypse Soon EP.

Last year, one of our favourite groups MAJOR LAZER expressed themselves through the release of their second studio album Free The Universe.

Full of punchy jams and a huge lineup of collaborations, it was greatly received around the globe. To continue this trend, Major Lazer have dropped 'Aerosol Can' - the leading single from their forthcoming EP Apocalypse Soon featuring the vocals of PHARRELL WILLIAMS!

In terms of composition, we've met some pretty huge releases from the gents. 'Aerosol Can' however, is quite the contrast, proving to be audacious in its simplicity as it doesn't pertain any sort of drop or huge change in development. Though what it does do is maintain a woody, rapid melody that lives as the main instrumental element of the song, and is at times coupled with a soft pounding beat.

Taking the title of the track to a literal form, this tune is set apart from the norm through the shaking and spraying of an aerosol can. Throw in Pharrell Williams rapping alongside the sometimes-present sample of a female vocalist and we're suddenly left with the killer opening track to Major Lazer's forthcoming release.
