French producer JOAKIM has had a busy few months. With a variety of shows being played across Europe, he has also found the time to record some new material.

We have previously heard some fantastic singles by this artist including 'Wrong Blood' and 'In The Cave', but now JOAKIM has released a new cover and a new remix EP which is sure to blow you away.

Being a cover of one of JOAKIM's favourite artists, the one and only NEIL YOUNG, 'On The Beach' has been delicately transformed into an electronic masterpiece which, according to him, sounds even darker than the original:

"The lyrics are so dark and beautiful, they relate to the slightly autistic part that a lot of artists are hiding and the artist condition in general. But I'm no Neil Young when it comes to song-writing, so instead of trying to write something as good, I decided to make a cover, twist that blues tune and turn it into something completely different and (much to my surprise) even darker."

'On The Beach' delivers a haunting mix of sliding synths, with distorted and robotic vocals hovering over light harmonies and a very hard beat. It is just as dark as JOAKIM said but is still beautiful.

'On The Beach' has already had a great response amongst fellow producers. CFCF and PRINCIPLES OF GEOMETRY have already remixed the track and so, not long after 'On The Beach' was officially released, JOAKIM already has enough content for a solid remix EP for the track.

The 'On The Beach' Remix EP is due on March 31 through Because Music. The original cover can also be downloaded for free via Soundcloud so before you get your hands on the EP, be sure to have a good listen to JOAKIM's haunting cover first.
