JEROME LOL and SAMO SOUND BOY formed BODY HIGH in 2011 to house collaborative outfit, DJ DODGER STADIUM’s first EP, ‘Stadium Status’.

The EP was essentially the roots for the label’s creation, and since then, has paved the way for other releases by other diverse artists under the label. The pair have been playing extensively under their own monikers for the past year or two, but have reunited for the label’s first LP-length release. ‘Friend of Mine’ is the debut LP from DJ DODGER STADIUM, and it set to be released on the 8th of July.

What makes the duo so innovative and their music style so rare is their ability to create an album that conceptually, stands above most house and techno releases. The album itself will run through the transiency of LA life, and will musically tell the story of a wounded soul’s search for peace and redemption.

In celebrating the announcement of the album, DJ DODGER STADIUM has released the first single off of the album. Titled ‘Love Songs’, the track itself is pays a deep sentiment to the (at times) loneliness that emanates from the vast LA cityscape. A video has too been released as an accompaniment to the track, and the stop-start motions of the camera’s aesthetics aids in accentuating the oscillating backbeat that traces the outline of the track’s entirety.

Ultimately, ‘Love Songs’ and its respective video go hand in hand to proper communicate the loneliness and sheer emptiness that one must feel in such a vast and transient place as LA. DJ DODGER STADIUM have begun to release the conceptually flawless inner workings of an obviously well thought out full length release.
