Penguin Prison has remixed one of the most loved tracks of 2014 from New Zealand duo Broods.

With BROODS' track 'Bridges' being constantly remixed, you're left wondering if there's anything new a producer could do to it.

So far the original mix that the New Zealand siblings released a while ago, has become one of the most popular releases of 2014 so far, which it pretty darn good seeing as we're still only five months into the year. The track has already been remixed by tropical demon L D R U, fellow Kiwi HIGH HOOPS and Brisbane's very own YOUNG FRANCO and now we have another remix which is luckily a refreshing new take on the track.

The new remix is by PENGUIN PRISON, a New York producer who has astounded our shores with his own mixes. Christopher Glover has been creating his own electronica for years and has caught our full attention again, with his remix of 'Bridges'. Not unlike TODD TERJEPENGUIN PRISON blends together electronica and house like they were meant to be however he tends to have a bit more of a steadier groove rather than TERJE's active disco influence.

The vocals of 'Bridges' move on through the remix as normal with only a few chops and changes. They hover over a melody of synths and deep hand claps that are compiled with lighter synths and sliding samples that make the new remix sound like a digital road trip of some sort; it just keeps on moving. With another synth bursting out from the melody towards the end of the track, it whirrs its way through the melody as the vocals suddenly disappear. It feels like a climatic element similar to a guitar solo in all of the old glam rock tracks some may remember from the eighties, but here it serves as something more than a muscly punch. On 'Bridges' the climax binds the entire track together finishing on a high note which will make the remix hover in your brain for days to come.

Both BROODS and PENGUIN PRISON are currently touring however, neither tour is currently in Australia. Both artists have a great sound that they are sharing with the world and we can all appreciate it through our speakers until we have the chance to hear it first hand.
