Yahtzel is clearly a master of his own craft, and his take on one of Peking Duk’s biggest and greatest tracks, 'High', is definitely close to perfection.

Ulladulla local YAHTZEL has been putting the Australian dance scene on a huge buzz. With some of his previous tracks like ‘High With Me’ and ‘Jungle Feels’ moulding a particular image for the young artist, he’s definitely on track for bigger things.

It continues here with his take on PEKING DUK’s latest track ‘High’ featuring Sydney’s own NICOLE MILLAR.

The original has pretty much been turned on its head, spun fifty times one way, and moulded to fit a completely different box of sound. Taking the original elements of the track (being the big beats and the flawlessly paired vocals from NICOLE) and dousing them in tropical colours and sounds, YAHTZEL has transformed it into an almost effortless interpretation.

The most refreshing part of the track is the delicate synths bouncing around the second half of the song. It furthermore helps to accentuate the simplistic chord progression highlighted on the back layer of the track. Elements of the original that made it so successful remain boasted here, particularly the refreshingly sunny element that is made prominent in NICOLE’s vocals.
