Live Review: Milky Chance 'Stolen Dance' (A Purple Heart Remix)

16 May 2014 | 5:38 pm | Hannah Galvin

Brisbane producer A Purple Heart has remixed Milky Chance's 'Stolen Dance'.

German duo MILKY CHANCE released their tune 'Stolen Dance' in Australia via Sydney based label Neon Records. Since it's landing, Brisbane producer Reuben Bradley - better known to his musical pals as A PURPLE HEART has put his own spin on the single.

From what originated as a fluffy guitar waving at a muffled beat and a few handfuls of claps, A Purple Heart has completely reconstructed the instrumental shield of 'Stolen Dance'. Exchanging said elements for a confident key-line and increasingly electronic presence, the rendition begins with quite a build-up; soon followed by a punchy beat to fill the remix's first chorus. From here on in, an array of synths that wobble, coast and creep are rung out over the track which has seen their sonic drips intensify the radiance and texture of the skilful remix.

Through the evolution of 'Stolen Dance's electronic makeover, A Purple Heart has praised both himself and Milky Chance as he has not only elongated and revamped the song to suit his own style,  the artist has also managed to sustain the vocal structure and prominence, allowing the voice to remain as the hero of 'Stolen Dance'.
