Live Review: FKA Twigs 'Two Weeks' (Official Video)

26 June 2014 | 4:46 pm | Adriana Barro

The enchanting sounds of FKA Twigs have been teamed up with a Nabil directed clip coming together on her track 'Two Weeks' from her forthcoming album.

Ahead of the release of her debut album 'LP1', FKA TWIGS has revealed the video for her single 'Two Weeks'. The UK songstress and producer has gathered plenty of attention as she continues to intrigue audiences with an air of mystery that surrounds her ominously sweet, floaty vocals and captivating lyrics that she lays across atmospheric beats.

'Two Weeks' is the first song to be released from 'LP1', which is set to drop in Australia on the 8th of August via Young Turks / Remote Control. The track itself is hauntingly beautiful, and is as delicate as it is hostile. FKA TWIGS has an ability to coat emotive, resonate tracks with a disquieting layer, and she certainly does it well.

Her angelic voice is the focal point of this track but you can't help but be drawn to the strength she omits through her music, especially present in this track. Just like a 21st Century Siren, FKA TWIGS lures you in with mesmerising vocals whether you like it or not.

The cinematic clip that accompanies 'Two Weeks' was directed by film guru Nabil, and features the singer as a goddess of sorts, sitting centrally as miniature versions of herself enchantingly dance around her. The understated dominance that is present within the sound of this track is pulled to the forefront with the aid of visuals, as FKA TWIGS reminds us she is a force to be reckoned with. The gentle smoky haze that is present throughout the entirety of the clip enhances the feeling of being taken away into a dreamlike daze induced by the sounds of FKA TWIGS.
