Live Review: Hot Natured 'Benediction' (Official Video)

4 July 2014 | 3:44 pm | Adriana Barro

The clip for Hot Natured's carefree summery dance track 'Benediction' follows a story of a bunch of kids doing just that, and they do it well.

If you thought the film clip where a bunch of troubled youths stuck in the midst of a pseudo-dystopic surrounding who rebel and climb a bunch of fences and steal some shit along the way was totally 'done' - then think again.

The clip for HOT NATURED's carefree summery dance track 'Benediction' follows a story of a bunch of kids doing just that, and they do it well. Whether or not it's just the atmosphere of the visuals seeping into the music, but listening to 'Benediction' now, it exudes such a youthful, relaxed vibe that it's hard to envision anything other than shots of an old ute driving down deserted highways surrounded by huge mountain ranges, or through lifeless Californian streets.

Starting off with two guys, a paper round and a handy cam, the clip moves through all the stages of a Hollywood spec summer (let's face it, no one's summer is this cool) including stolen beers beneath wind turbines, breaking into houses, diving into abandoned lakes and of course the romance and loneliness of substance induced house parties.

The hazy nonchalance that flows throughout this clip runs in perfect sequence with the music it was made for, and if nothing else will leave you with a strange urge to climb a fence and/or dive into someone else's pool.
