Live Review: Little Dragon 'Pretty Girls' (Official Video)

In what appears to be a running theme for Little Dragon, the film clip for 'Pretty Girls' features grave yards and zombies. And a beauty pageant too.

In what appears to be a follow up to the visuals for 'Klapp Klapp', LITTLE DRAGON have released the film clip for 'Pretty Girls' and yes, it features more zombies. Although 'Klapp Klapp' was not directed by the famed Nabil, he was in charge of creative direction, this time around he was indeed the director.

Whether or not we're being drip fed some kind of Nabil fuelled zombie apocalypse short-film, only time will tell. For now, bask in the gore-y of 'Pretty Girls'. The clip begins where the other left off, in the midst of the smoky, dilapidated grave yard where our protagonist is being dragged off unwillingly by two unknown men and thrown into the back of a van. All the while, the clip cuts to what appears to be an illegitimate beauty pageant, a scene that (almost) feels a little more in line with the title of the track.

After being forced to perform on stage in a possessed, slightly terrifying manner, lead-zombie seemingly gets her revenge. Although at first I felt the whole zombie witchcraft thing was a completely bizarre approach from LITTLE DRAGON, I have now come to appreciate the connection between such otherworldly, dark visuals to compliment the unique sound of the tracks that always seem to carry an air of boding evil.

In true Nabil fashion, the clip is cinematic in every way, and the fast rate of shot changes within the clip make it impossible to tear away. The ending could also be the perfect foretaste for a third instalment, just saying...
