Live Review: Lowell 'The Bells' (Official Video)

1 August 2014 | 4:38 pm | Darren Ng

Toronto artist Lowell with an energetic video of 'The Bells' with greasers, cheerleaders & roller derby girls for her record 'We Loved Her Dearly'.

The key to a successful mix tape is a good poppy and dance-inducing tune that doesn't seem excessive, yet captures the essence of the sunrise and a scenic drive over the coast.

'The Bells' by Lowell is the magnum opus of all tracks on these mix tapes, combining the gentle hits of bell chimes, bass and drums, and subsequently hitting the sweet spot in Lowell's vocals, it is repetitive yet doesn't scream major over-powering.

Since its release, the alluring upbeat piece has received major love from dd elle, and Lowell being brought onto tour in support of Money for their East Coast US dates.

The music video is a piece of art showing Lowell with more bite and spunk than a pleasurable white chocolate bar. She bares her moves on a football pitch, baseball bat in hand, with cheerleaders, greasers in corpse paint and roller derby girls as her backups dancers. The end of the video is everyone conjugating in the middle of the pitch arms flailing out, with confetti dancing in the air and flashing hues of purple, green and red.
